Ben Beasley

Head Lad/Assistant Trainer

Ben has worked in racing for many years and has worked for David and Alex since 1993. As a former sucessful trainer in his own right, Ben is very experienced and is an essential part of the team handling the day to day running of the yard. His knowledge and experience are second to none and he plays a major role in the yards success.

Ernie Greaves

Assistant Trainer

Ernie has always been involved in racing, his wife Val is a long standing member of David Barron's yard. Ernie works as Davids right hand man, often representing David at race meetings when David has other commitments.

Demelza (Mel) Whitfield-Stout

Head of Travelling

Mel started working at Tall Trees in April 2008. She is an experinced member of staff and has worked for various other trainers before she came here. She has travelled horses all over the world and is a valuable addition to the team.

Mel is conscientious and hard working, you can rest assured your horses will be well look after both pre and post race with Mel in charge.

Gary Stockdale

Travelling Lad

Gary has worked for David for a couple of years and has proved to be reliable and a conscientious team member. He is in the process of taking his HGV test and will therefore become a regular face at the races.

Gary travelled the horse to Dubai last year and cared for them while they were over there. He also goes to France and Ireland a lot with our over sea runners and also went to Woodbime with our Canadian runners a couple of years ago. He is reliable and looks after his horse well.

Jimmy Gee

Work Rider

Jimmy has been working for David and Alex for about six years and is also their son-in-law. Jimmy is a regualr race goer and on occasions doubles as a horse box driver.

Jimmy has flowen with horses and cared for them while they have been aboard. He is a popular and experience member of staff and plays a major role in the breaking of the yearlings and their further education.

Tracey Barton

Stable Lass

Tracey is David and Alexs longest serving member of staff. She has worked for them from the word go. Tracey is very hard working and her attention to detail is second to none.

Tracey has young family and therefore only works part-time but likes to go racing with her horses as and when she can. She is renowned for turning her horses out to a very high stand and is a prolific winner of the best turned out prizes.

Helen Atkinson

Stable Lass

Helen started working for David in early 2008. Although only young she is a good worker and likes her horses. She particularly enjoys riding out and has been lucky enough to have been paired up with Regal Parade and rides him nearly every morning.

She is a keen race goer and you will no dout see her leading up at many of the race meetings we have runners at. Helen is a dynamic member of staff who has fitted into the team well and has a bright future in racing.
