In The Beginning

David Nicholls began training in 1992. After a successful career as a jockey he decided to turn his hand to training, and what a decision this has proved to be. David started training with only 5 horses with the help of his wife, champion lady Jockey Alex Greaves, He now has around 100 under his care.

David has trained winners of many of the top sprint races, including:-

• The Ayr Gold Cup 4 times with Continent, Bahamian Pirate and Funfair Wane twice.
• The Nunthorpe twice with Ya Malak and Bahamian Pirate.
• The July Cup and the Prix L’Abbaye in the same year with Continent.
• The Vodafone Epsom Dash with Rudi’s Pet, Atlantic Viking and Fire Up The Band. 
• The Wokingham with Lafi.
• The Stewards Cup with Gift Horse

For The Future


In 2007 David trained the winners of 72 races, earning just over £752,000 in prize money. He saddled the winners of races in France and Ireland as well as at home. He also trained the winners of 10 two-year-old only races giving him a percentage of 22% winners to runners for two-year-olds. David set a new record this year when becoming the only british based trainer to ever send a horse to race on the beach at Laytown - Quai du Roi, who managed to win his race at Laytown too. Be part of the David Nicholls success story, join him and his team in the next chapter and become a winner.
